During the Food City 500 race in Bristol on April 7, there were a number of drivers in the Monster Energy Cup Series race who had issues with loose wheels and had t make unscheduled stops on pit road to address the issue. But after post race inspections only two teams were found to have improperly secured lug nuts.

The Joe Gibbs Racing number eleven car driven by Denny Hamlin and the Joe Gibbs Racing number 19 car driven by Martin Truex Jr. were each found to have one lug nut not secured.

As a result of the infractions, the number eleven crew chief Chris Gabehart and the number 19 crew chief Cole Pearn were each fined $10,000.
