He 2019 edition of he Billboard Music Awards will take place on May 1 with award winning entertainer Kelly Clarkson serving as the host for the gala event at the MGM Grand Garden in Las Vegas.
On April 4 Billboard Magazine revealed the nominees for this year’s awards. Winners are determined by sales, streaming, radio airplay, touring and social engagement.
Hip hop artist Cardi B. leads the way in 2019 with 21 nominations. Drake, Post Malone, Travis Scott, XXTentacion, Maroon 5, BTS, Panic! At the Disco, Imagine Dragons, and Lady Gaga have also earned multiple nominations this year. Ariana Grande,
Music veterans Aretha Franklin, Queen, The Rolling Stones, U2, and Sir Eton John have also garnered nominations for this year’s awards.
