Recently The Strong Museum in Rochester, New York revealed the 12 finalists for induction into the World Video Game Hall of Fame. On May 2 the newest inductees will be revealed and on May 4 and 5 visitors can help to celebrate the new inductees with music, Cosplay, and photo opportunities.

The festivities begin on May 4 from 11am to 4pm and continue on May 5 from 1pm to 4pm.

The band Glitch will be on hand from 1 to 4 pm to play music, and offer up some video game trivia.

Member of the Cosplay Group from the Rochester Institute of Technology will be on hand to pose for photos as they stroll around the museum.

The College of Brockport and Renaissance Academy Charter School of the Arts will present a performance of “Story Quest: Escape from Video Game Land” on Saturday at 11am.

The video games eligible for induction into the 2019 class of the World Video Game Hall of Fame are Candy Crush, Centipede, Colossal Cave Adventure, Dance Dance Revolution, Half-Life, Microsoft Windows Solitaire, Mortal Kombat, Myst, NBA 2K, Sid Meier’s Civilization, Super Mario Kart, and Super Smash Bros. Melee.

The Strong is open Monday thru Thursday form 10am to 5pm, Friday and Saturday from 10am to 8pm, and Sunday from noon to 5pm.

Admission to The Strong is $16 and free to members and children under the age of two; entrance into the Dancing Wings Butterfly Garden is an additional fee of $4 for members and $5 for non members with children under the age of two are free.
