In an attempt to increase safety and slow the cars down on the super speedway tracks of the circuit, NASCAR competition committee officials have issued some new rule for the Monster Energy Cup Series.
For the races at the circuits two biggest tracks – Daytona International and Talladega Super Speedways – the spoilers and bolt on track bar will be raised one inch. For the spoilers they will go from eight to nine inches and the track bar mount will go from eleven inches to 12 inches which will result in the cars being raised an inch higher.
In 2018 NASCAR eliminated the minimum ride height for the cars which resulted in the teams lowering the cars to nearly touching the track in order to reduce drag and increase speed.
NASCAR has also eliminated the use of the restrictor plate at the super speedway tracks, instead choosing to use aerodynamic devices to slow the cars down to around 550 horsepower.
