It’s the final race of the regular season for the Xfinity Series with race two of a triple header weekend. In the desert, temperatures outside are approaching 100 degrees with temperatures well over 100 in the cars.

As the first round of qualifying begins there are several teams still waiting in the inspection line after having failed more than once; with some risking losing their car chief with three failures. Forty teams have brought cars to the track; therefore, everyone will start the race.

Garrett Smithley crashed during his first qualifying run.

After barely making out of the inspection process in time, Cole Custer wins the pole and will bring the field to green.

Stages one and two of the race are 45 laps each with stage three lasting 110 laps.

While very hot, there is also a stiff breeze at Las Vegas Motor Speedway; as a result, the crews have to take down the signs that aid drivers in finding their pit stalls.

Matt Tifft’s car failed inspection four times and will have to make a pass through penalty once the green flag drops.

Cole Custer brings the field down for the green flag and despite spinning his tires, gets out in front for the lead thanks to a push from Elliott Sadler.

Lap three Cole Custer holds on to the lead but Ross Chastain is now in second with Elliott Sadler in third.

Lap four Ross Chastain passes Cole Custer to take the lead; Elliott Sadler, Christopher Bell and Shane Lee round out the top five.

Michael Annett brings out the first caution flag of the race when he makes contact with Ryan Preece and makes a run through the grass. The grass causes serious damage to Annett’s car. Matt Tifft was one lap down after making his pass through penalty; as a result of the caution flag, Tifft is now back on the lead lap.

Ryan Preece’s car also sustained some damage when he made contact with Michael Annett.

Ross Chastain brings the field down for the green flag restart on lap 13 with Chastain and Cole Custer going nose to nose. Ross Chastain gets out in front to hold on to the lead.

Ryan Preece makes an unscheduled pit stop for a reported rear end issue.

Lap 16 the top five are Ross Chastain, Christopher Bell, Cole Custer, Elliott Sadler, Cund Shane Lee. While he has driven at Daytona and Talladega, this is the first time that Shane Lee has raced on a mile and a half track.

After having to start the race at the back of the field, Ryan Truex has moved up to the top 10.

Tyler Reddick hits the wall but the track stays green and Reddick continues to run around the track.

Lap 20 Ross Chastain has a one second lead on Christopher Bell with Cole Custer in third; Elliott Sadler and Shane Lee round out the top five.

Lap 25, Ross Chastain holds on to his lead on Christopher Bell with Cole Custer in third; Elliott Sadler and Shane Lee round out the top five.

Shane Lee got loose on the track and bushed the wall but the track stays green and Lee stays on the track.

Lap 33, Ross Chastain continues to lead the race with Christopher Bell, Cole Custer, Elliott Sadler, and Daniel Hemric rounding out the top five.

Ross Chastain has a lead of over a second on Christopher Bell.

Lap 37, there are 22 cars on the lead lap.

For most of the season, Ross Chastain has been behind the wheel of the number four car. He has asked NASCAR if it would be possible for his number four car team can be a part of the playoff photos if he makes it to the playoffs driving the number 42 car.

Lap 40 Ross Chastain holds on this hos lead of over a second on Christopher Bell and has now put over half the field a lap down with only 18 cars on the lead lap.

Ross Chastain wins the race off of pit road.

Ross Chastain brings the field down for the green flag start of stage two on lap 52 with Chastain and Elliott Sadler going nose to nose. Ross Chastain edges out Elliott Sadler for the lead with Daniel Hemric in third.

Lap 54 Ross Chastain has a quarter of a second lead on Daniel Hemric with Elliott Sadler, Cole Custer, and Christopher Bell rounding out the top five.

Lap 56 Ross Chastain has pulled out to a lead of over half a second on Daniel Hemric with Elliott Sadler in third place. There are 19 cars on the lead lap.

Lap 59, Ross Chastain hold on to his lead o over half a second on Daniel Hemric with Elliott Sadler in third; Cole Custer and Justin Allgaier round out the top five.

Lap 62, Ross Chastain holds on to his lead over Daniel Hemric with Cole Custer, Elliott Sadler, and Justin Allgaier rounding out thetop five.

The caution flag comes out on lap 66 when Ryan Reed and Matt Tifft get into the wall causing significant damage to Ryan Reed’s car. Ryan Reed is out of his car but is sitting on the track against his car.

Matt Tifft’s car ended up driver’s side against the wall and he is having some difficulty exiting the car. Reports are that Tifft is fine, he just can’t get out of the car with it against the wall.

Matt Tifft is safely out of his car.

The wreck began when Matt Tifft spun out and was hit by Ryan Reed in the front quarter panel on the driver’s side.

The wind gusts have gotten worse since the start of the race; FOX reporters reveal that the wind can contribute to issues with the car.

Ross Chastain brings the field down for the green flag restart on lap 71, but it is Daniel Hemric that gets out in front for the lead with Ross Chastain in second and Cole Custer in third.

Lap 72, Ross Chastain challenges Daniel Hemric for the lead as the two swap back and forth. Ross Chastain finally gets around Daniel Hemric to take the lead on lap 73.

Lap 75, Ross Chastain leads the race with Daniel Hemric, Cole Custer,Christopher Bell and Justin Allgaier rounding out the top five.

Lap 82, Ross Chastain has a lead of nearly a second and a half on Cole Custer with 18 cars on the lead lap.

Five to go in stage two, Ross Chastain is in the lead by nearly a second and a half over Cole Custer with Daniel Hemric in third; Justin Allgaier and Christopher Bell round out the top five.

Lap 102, Daniel Hemric challenges Ross Chastain for the lead but Chastain holds on to his lead; Justin Allgaier is in third a half second behind.

There are 19 cars on the lead lap with seven cars out of the race.

Lap 106, Ross Chastain has a lead of under half a second on Daniel Hemric with Justin Allgaier in third.

FOX broadcasters announce that Justin Allgaier has clinched the regular season championship.

Lap 119, Ross Chastain continues to dominate the race with a lead of over two seconds on Daniel Hemric; Justin Allgaier, Christopher Bell, and Tyler Reddick round out the top five.

Lap 121, Ros Chastain has increased his lead to three seconds on Daniel Hemric with 19 cars on the lead lap.

Lap 124, Ross Chastain is running away with the field with a lead of three and a half seconds on Daniel Hemric.

With 73 laps remaining in the race, the drivers cannot complete the race without making another pit stop..

Saying that it is the hardest hit he has ever had, Matt Tifft reports that he is fine and thanked NASCAR for making the cars safe for the drivers.

Lap 145, Justin Allgaier has increased his lead to over half a second on Ross Chastain with Cole Custer in third and 19 cars on the lead lap.

Lap 148, Justin Allgaier has company in the battle for third with Allgaier, Ross Chastain, and Cole Custer all battling for the top spot.

Lap 149, Ross Chastain passes Justin Allgaier on the top and gets out in front for the lead.

Cole Custer also gets around Justin Allgaier to take second place.

Lap 152, Cole Custer is closing in on leader Ross Chastain. Justin Allgaier is reporting a bad tight situation.

Lap 153, Cole Custer battles Ross Chastain for the lead.

Lap 154, Cole Custer gets around Ross Chastain to take the lead but Ross Chastain retakes the lead on lap 155.

Justin Allgaier has again entered the forray with Cole Custer, Ross Chastain, and Justin Allgaier all battling for the lead as they encounter lapped traffic.

Lap 158, Ross Chastain is in the lead with Cole Custer in second and Justin Allgaier in third as they continue to battle for position.

Lap 161, Justin Allgaier gets around Cole Custer for second with Ross Chastain in the lead.

Lap 165, there are only 16 cars on the lead lap.

Ross Chastain has a lead of over a second and a half with Justin Allgaier, Cole Custer, Christopher Bell, and Daniel Hemric rounding out the top five.

With 33 laps remaining in the race, some teams are planning on gambling and not making a pit stop.

Lap 168, Ross Chastian has increased his lead over Justin Allgaier to over two seconds.

Lap 170, the top five are Ross Chastain, Justin Allgaier, Cole Custer, Christopher Bell, and Elliott Sadler.

Lap 172, teams are beginning to make green flag pit stops.

Lap 174, with a lead of over two seconds on Justin Allgaier, leader Ross Chastain has put all but 14 cars at least a lap down.

Vinnie Miller brings the caution flag out on lap 175 when he spins out. Cole Custer was on pit road when the caution flag came out.

Ross Chastain brings the field down for the green flag restart with Justin Allgaier alongside on lap 180 with the front row going side by side, but Ross Chastain edges out the lead. Drivers are getting three and four wide across the track battling for position.

Chase Briscoe takes a wild ride and slams the wall and catching the car on fire on lap 182 and brings out the seventh caution flag of the race. Briscoe is out of the car quickly as care workers get the fire extinguished.

Choosing the bottom lane, Ross Chastain brins the field down for the green flag restart on lap 187 and gets out in front of Justin Allgaier to hold on to the lead of the race with Christopher Bell in third.

Tyler Reddick gets into the wall and catches up Shane Lee on lap 188 and brings out the caution flag. Daniel Hemric and JJ Yeley were also involved in the wreck. Tyler Reddick takes his car to the garage.

With only six laps remaining in the race, Ross Chastain brings the field down for the green flag restart and edges out Justin Allgaier for the lead with Justin Allgaier in second and Cole Custer in third; Christopher Bell and Elliott Sadler round out the top five.

Four to go and Ross Chastain has pulled out to a lead of nearly half a second on Justin Allgaier.

Two to go and Ross Chastain has pulled out to a lead of over a second on Justin Allgaier.
