For over 40 years the Kennedy Center has been honouring members of the arts – music, dance, and acting – for their life long contributions to the arts and society.

On December 2 the Kennedy Center will induct the 41st class of Kennedy Center Honours in a Gala celebration inside the Kennedy Center itself.

This year singer, actress, and gay icon Cher, pianist and award winning composer Philip Glass, iconic Country music entertainer Reva McEntire, and Jazz saxophone player and composerWayne Shorter will be honoured.

This year’s fifth honouree is an ensemble of creators, the men who brought the Tony Award winning musical “Hamilton” to life – Lin-Manuel Miranda, Thomas Kail, Andy Blankenbuehler, and Alex Lacamoire – will receive a special honour for their trailblazing work in bringing the musical to the stage.
