In their only trip to New Hampshire this season, the Monster Energy Cup Series is running the Foxwoods Resort Casino 301.

For something a little different this weekend, NBC broadcaster Rick Allen leaves the broadcast booth for the first time in 16 years and joins the reporting crew on pit road leaving Steve Latart, Jeff Burton, and Dale Earnhardt Jr up in the booth in the words of Jeff Burton, “unsupervised.” They even had a pole as the to the race day attire for the broadcast booth.

After three rounds of qualifying at the Magic Mile, with a time of 28.51 seconds Kurt Busch wins his first pole at New Hampshire and will bring the field to green.

After moving up the start time for the race due to the possibility of bad weather, the race was delayed several hours for rain.

Shortly after 3:30pm the teams begin bringing the cars out of the garage as track drying continues. NASCAR announces driver introductions to begin at 3:50pm.

NASCAR has called for a 4:15pm green flag start.

Stages one and two of the race are 75 laps each with stage three lasting 151 laps for a total of 301 laps around the mile track in Loudon, New Hampshire.

NASCAR has called for a competition caution on lap 35. Teams cannot fuel the car before the competition caution.

Ty Dillon brings his car down pit road for an undetermined issue.

At 4:24 Kurt Busch brings the field down for the green flag start of the race and edges out martin Truex Jr to take the lead.

Lap three Kurt Busch leads the race with Martin Truex Jr, Denny Hamlin Ryan Blaney, and Kyle Busch rounding out the top five.

Pit rod reporters reveal that Ty Dillon’s water bottle came loose and was rolling around on the floorboard.

Lap six Kurt Busch has a lead of nearly half a second on Martin Truex Jr with Denny Hamlin in third.

Lap eight, Kurt Busch holds on to his lead over Martin Truex Jr with Denny Hamlin.

Kyle Busch is reporting that there is some water seepage coming out of the safer barriers.

Lap eleven, Kurt Busch continues to lead the race with Martin Truex Jr, Ryan Blaney, Denny Hamlin, and Eirk Jones rounding out the top five.

Landon Cassill brings out the first caution flag on lap 14 of the race when he gets into the wall and causes a lot of damage. He takes his car directly to the garage.

Some drivers from the back of the field bring their cars down pit road for fresh tires and adjustments.

NASCAR puts out the competition caution on lap 35, Kurt Busch has led every race so far.

Most of the drivers bring their cars down pit road for service.

Taking only two tires, Martin Truex Jr wins the race off of pit road. Kyle Busch in fifth place is the first driver with four fresh tires. Leader Kurt Busch comes out in sixth place.

After staying out on the track, Ricky Stenhouse Jr, with Jimmie Johnson alongside, brings the field down for the green flag restart on lap 40. Stenhouse and Johnson run nose to nose battling for the lead with Ricky Stenhouse Jr getting out in front for the lead.

Lap 44, Ricky Stenhouse Jr has a quarter of a second lead on Jimmie Johnson with Martin Truex Jr in third.

Lap 49, Martin Truex Jr passes Ricky Stenhouse Jr to take over the lead of the race.

Lap 53, the caution flag comes out for debris on the track.

Lap 57 Martin Truex Jr leads the race by over half a second on Jimmie Johnson with Chase Elliott in third.

Lap 60 Martin Truex Jr leads by over a second on Jimmy Johnson with Chase Elliott in third.

Lap 61 Chase Elliott passes Jimmie Johnson to take over second place with Martin Truex Jr in the lead by nearly a second and a half.

Aric Almorla has caught up to leader Kurt Busch and with the help of some slower traffic, passes Busch to take over the lead.

Brad Keselowski is reporting that his brakes are gone.

Lap 220, Aric Almirola’s lead on Kurt Busch is over half a second; Kevin Harvick, Chase Elliott, and Kyle Busch round out the top five.

The teams cannot complete the race without making a pit stop…and there are reports of the possibility of more rain.

Lap 223, Daniel Suarez is the first driver to come down pit road for his green flag pit stop. There are 19 cars on the lead lap.
