Race car drivers love nothing more than to race and some will often drive anything as long as it has four wheels.
Since the 2018 NASCAR season does not begin for another few weeks, a some of the drivers have decided to start their racing season a little early with the The Chili Bowl Midget Nationals in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The dirt track races begin January nine and run through January 13.
Racing on dirt is where many of the NASCAR circuit drivers got their start and one of the reasons the Chili Bowl is so popular with the drivers.
Monster Energy Cup Series drivers Kyle Larson, Kasey Kahne, and Ricky Stenhouse Jr; along with Xfinity Series drivers Justin Allgaier and defending champion Christopher Bell have all entered the event. “The Chili Bowl’s always a cool event,” said Kasey Kahne who has run the event three times.
In the past Rico Abreu and Dave Blaney have also won the race. Retired NASCAR driver and current car owner Tony Stewart has won the event twice.
