There were no “Blurred Lines” when Robin Thicke helped to kick off the 2018 music scene in the Seneca Events Center on January 6 as the Seneca Niagara Resort and Casino celebrate 15 years of gambling and entertainment in Niagara Falls, New York.
Thicke and his band played before a full house as fans shrugged off the frigid temperatures and warmed up to the music as they sang and dance along.
Thicke frreely featured various band members while they performed some R&B, blue eyed soul, Hip-Hop, and even carried on like an old time tent revival.
Constantly moving about the stage, often with the microphone stand in hand, and easily switching between his normal voice and falsetto, Thicke raised the roof on the Events Center when he performed “Give it 2 U”, “Magic”, “Lost Without U”, “Pretty Lil Heart”, “Morning Sun”, “Oh Shooter”, Wanna Love U”, the Rick James hit “Superfreak”, “Take Me Higher”, “Shaking It”, Michael Jackson’s “Rock with You”, Al Green’s “Let’s Stay Together”, “Blurred Lines” and “I don’t Like It’.
Saying that his father was Canadian, Thicke noted that as a child he had spent many holidays in the area…but on the Canadian side.
Even as the lights came up and the fans began to file out, the music continued to play and rock the Events Center.
Seneca Niagara got 2018 and their 15th year off to a rocking start with a performance from Robin Thicke and his band.
