Temperatures outside were frigid but inside the Bear’s Den Showroom at the Seneca Niagara Resort and Casino the New Jersey band Stone Flower played the hot Latin rhythms of Santana.
The six piece band featured two percussionists, a drummer, a bass player, a keyboard player, and Peter on guitar as Carlos Santana.
Over the near hour and a half show the band played songs that covered Santana’s career from their Woodstock performance in 1969 through the multi Grammy Award winning album “Supernatural”.
Playing to a full house, percussionist and lead singer Jorge noted that they were going to play songs to get the crowd moving .
After opening with the instrumental piece “Batooka”; Stone Flower played “No One I Can Depend On”, “Jingo”, “Maria Maria”, “Evil Ways”, Incident”, “Se a Cabo”, “Carnival”, “Smooth”, “Europa”, “Hope Y’r Feelin bitter”, “Black Magic Woman”, “Oye Como Va”, and ending the night with “Soul Sacrifice”.
With some 50 years of music from Carlos Santana for the band to choose from, the guys had plenty of songs to choose from and while they chose some of the most well known and energetic pieces, the night seemed to end all too soon as Stone Flower helped to close out the 2017 musical calendar in the Bear’s Den.
After the show band members met with fans.
