Over a six month period NASCAR lost two of its most iconic drivers to off track events – Greg Biffle along with his family in a plane crash and Kyle Larson to a sudden illness.

On October 27 Comcast has named the two drivers as the 2026 Comcast Community Champions of the Year!

This is the first time since the award was established in 2015 that Comcast has named two people as recipients of the award.

The Comcast Community Champions of the Year Award is presented to “individuals within the NASCAR community who have demonstrated an exceptional commitment to giving back”.

Biffle and Busch are being given the awards posthumously for “the profound impact both made and the causes, families, and communities that remain part of their enduring legacies.”

After hurricanes ravaged North Carolina and Tennessee, Greg Bifflie flew his personal helicopter to isolated areas to deliver relief supplies and rescue stranded people who were trapped among the floods.

With the help of his wife Samantha, Kyle Busch established “Bundle of Joy” – an organization that aides people who have fertility issues but want to start a family.  To date, Bundle of Joy has helped some 200 families and helped to welcome 114 new babies into the world.

Vice President of Brand Partnerships & Engagement, Comcast Matt Lederer spoke on the 2026 award recipients saying, “Kyle and Greg represented what this award stands for, using their platforms to make a difference well beyond the sport.  Through their compassion, generosity and commitment to helping others, they made a lasting impact on countless lives. We are proud to name Kyle and Greg co-champions and celebrate two extraordinary legacies that will continue to inspire others.”

Comcast is presenting $60,000 each to Bundle of Joy Fund and the Biffle Family Legacy Impact Fund.
