There was a bit of a shakeup in the point standings after the race on Sunday at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in the Sout Point 400.  While the top five spots did not change, there was some movement in the bottom two-thirds of the standings and the leader’s points differential got bigger.

Chase Briscoe held on to win the race and move up two spots in the standings to sixth.

Kyle Larson holds on to the lead and stretches that lead to 40 points.

It was a relatively clean race; even Ryan Blaney and Carson Hocevar were side by side at one point with no incidents.

In the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series, Corey Day dominated the race for the win.

However, things did not go so well for Justin Allgaier and Brandon Jones.

Knowing that he likely had at least one loose lug nut, Brandon Jones chose to stay out on the track and turned into Justin Allgaier, putting both drivers in the wall and out of the race.  After post race inspection, Brandon Jones was disqualified for having multiple loose lug nuts.  After being DQ’d, Jones lost one spot in the finish standings and the seven stage points he had won.

Despite a less than stellar day, Sheldon Creed holds on to the points lead but Justin Allgaier lost two spots and is now 30 points behind the leader after being so dominant in the regular season.
