One of the newest stars in Country Music has topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart with 23 consecutive weeks in the number one spot. The feat beats out pop star Mariah Carey and her holiday favourite.
Ella Langley’s award-winning hit song “Choosin’ Texas” has just beaten out Mariah Carey’s 1994 hit “All I Want for Christmas is You” to hold the All-Time Hot 100 Record streak at 23…and counting.
According to Billboard Magazine the list of the songs with the longest weeks at number one are:
“Choosin’ Texas” by Ella Langley – 23 weeks
“All I Want for Christmas is You” by Mariah Carey – 22 weeks
“A Bar Song (Tipsy)” by Shaboozey – 19 weeks
“Old Town Road” by Lil Nas X with Billy Ray Cyrus – 19 weeks
“Last Night” by Morgan Wallen – 16 weeks
“Despacito” by Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee with Justin Bieber – 16 weeks
“One Sweet Day” by Mariah Carey & Boyz II Men – 16 weeks
Billboard began keeping track of the Hot 100 singles in August of 1958.
Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” debuted on the Hot 100 chart November 1, 2025 and took over the number one spot in February.
Speaking on the success of the song, Langley said, “it feels surreal. I think this has been the biggest moment for me, where I’ve seen where fans can change your career. For so long, you’re like, ‘Alright, one song at a time, one record at a time.’ But with this one song — and they’ve done it continuously for me — but really with ‘Choosin’ Texas’ … man, have they taken ahold of it. It’s wild.”
The song has topped the Hot Country Songs chart for 41 weeks!
The holiday season is at least six or seven weeks away where Carey could retake the top spot on the All-Time records list; but it will depend on how much longer Langley holds on to the top of the Hot 100 chart before those holidays arrive.
