Naming the best restaurant is a very subjective question.
More appropriately would be a favourite resstaurant.
Granted there are a number of different eating places around here from fast food to nice dining. Being a tourist town, there are eateries for most any taste. Indian restaurants are by far the largest in number.
I like Asian food and when I order food for delivery, it is most often one of the local Chinese places.
But when it comes to my choice of eat in places, my go to place is the Hard Rock Cafe. I always go there for my birthday.
Before covid shut everything down, I was at the Hard Rock every week, sometimes more than once a week.
But to be fair, I was there every week on Tuesday afternoon where I would spend a couple of hours working….and munching on tortilla chips – they make their own!
And then Friday and/or Saturday night I was there covering the musical performances.
A lot has changed since covid and I have not been there very often. They no longer have much in the way of musical performances; in fact, they have stopped it for the most part.
And I just read that the local franchise has been sold. The new owners claim – at least in the news article – that they will be keeping all of the current employees. But it will be interesting to see what the new ownership brings.
When it comes to a hamburger, my go to is the Hard Rock, but there is a local business that specializes in Halal food and they have some excellent burgers…and sweet potato fries – love sweet potato fries!
Needless to say, my frequent visits have allowed me to become acquainted with some of the people who work there. Several left when the Hard Rock Cafe ownership made a corporate managerial change. I hope there isn’t another massive change over. I like going to a place where I know the people.
