Tom Felton’s reprise of his role as Draco Malfoy from the “Harry Potter” films on the stage in “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” has brought a major boost to the play on Broadway.
But Felton has announced his final performances as Harry Potter’s nemesis will be January 3, 2027.
Felton took over the role on November 11, 2025 for what was to be a limited engagement of 19 weeks. The performance has been extended twice; his third extension will be his last.
Felton will not be performing August 17-23, September 14-20, October 12-18, and November 2.
While fellow “Harry Potter” actor Daniel Radcliffe has made a number of appearances on Broadway; Felton is the only actor from the franchise to appear in the play – “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child”.
With his debut in the play last year, the production has seen a significant boost at the box office; at times even packing the house with standing room only performances.
Felton spoke on his role as Draco Malfoy and joining the cast last year saying, “being a part of the Harry Potter films has been one of the greatest honors of my life. Joining this production will be a full-circle moment for me, because when I begin performances in Cursed Child this fall, I’ll also be the exact age Draco is in the play. It’s surreal to be stepping back into his shoes—and of course his iconic platinum blond hair—and I am thrilled to be able to see his story through and to share it with the greatest fan community in the world. I look forward to joining this incredible company and being a part of the Broadway community.”
