After leaving Led Zeppelin, Robert Plant has turned his talents to roots and Americana music. He has had numerous collaborations with Alison Kraus.
At their 25th annual Americana Honours and Awards on September 16, the America Music Association will be presenting Plant with the Lifetime Achievement Award.
The 2007 collaboration with Alison Krauss ”Raising Sand” earned the duo a Grammy Award.
Since that first album, Plant has continued his exploration of the genres including collaborations with Patty Griffin, Buddy Miller, Suzi Dian, Gillian Welch, Memphis Minnie and Blind Willie Johnson, Bob Moseley (Moby Grape), Martha Scanlan, Mimi Parker and Alan Sparhawk, Sarah Siskind, and The Low Anthem.
Seven of the eight Grammy Award wins for Robert Plant were earned after he left Led Zeppelin.
