When Kaulig Racing made the commitment to field five of the new Ram Trucks in the Craftsman Truck Series in 2026, they hired three full time drivers, held a reality series television show to find the driver for one of the trucks, and the fifth truck was designated the “Guest” Truck with a different NASCAR star each week. Tony Stewart, Jamie McMurray, Travis Pastrana, Clint Bowyer, and Parker Kligerman are among the drivers race the number 25 “Guest Truck”.
When the Truck Series travels to North Wilkesboro for some short track racing on July 18, another special guest will be behind the wheel of the number 25 truck – The Rocketman himself Ryan Newman!
Newman spoke on getting back behind the wheel saying, “I’m really excited to get back behind the wheel at North Wilkesboro and to be part of Ram’s Free Agent Program. It’s special returning to a brand I had so much success with early in my career, and racing at Wilkesboro is always cool.”
Newman had 733 starts in the Cup Series, and earned the name Rocket Man with his 51 career poles. He earned Rookie of the Year honours in 2002 and had 18 Cup Series wins including a Daytona 500 and a Brickyard 400.
This is make Newman’s eighth start in the Craftsman Truck Series.
Newman was involved in a horrific crash during a race at Daytona that sent him to the hospital and ended his career as a full time driver.
