Among the lineup of shows running on the West End is the Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice masterpiece “Jesus Christ Superstar”.

The show is currently scheduled for a limited engagement revival from June 20 to September 5 at the Palladium Theatre.  It will then run at Theatre Royal Drury Lane from October 16 to January 9 and will feature a revolving role of King Harods.

Sam Ryder is playing the lead role.

During the Palladium run Simon Russell Beale, Layton Williams, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Richard Armitage, Boy George, and Julian Clary will take on the role of King Herod.

And during the Drury Lane run Mat Bomer, Rob Brydon, Reece Shearsmith, Bob the Drag Queen, Michael Ball, Simon Russell Beale, Omid Djalili, and Layton Williams will all play the role of King Herod.

“Jesus Christ Superstar” first premiered in 1970 as a concept album and has gone on to be one of the most performed Webber musicals.
