During the annual Tony Awards ceremony on June 7, it was announced that Billy Crystal is making a return to Broadway with a one man show titled “860”. The show is based around his longtime Palisades home that he lost during the wildfires last year.
The show will open to previews at the Imperial Theatre on October 1 with an official opening 21. Currently the show is set for a 14 week engagement ending on January 3.
Tickets go on sale to the general public beginning June 18 at 10am via Telecharge.
The Emmy Award, Tony Award, the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor, and Kennedy Center honoree winning actor and comedian made his Broadway debut in 2004 with “700 Sundays”.
Speaking on the upcoming production via statement Crystal said, “I am thrilled to return to Broadway this fall with this challenging new show. ‘860’ was the address of the home we lost in the Palisades fires. We lived there for 46 years. I invite you to come inside 860 and I’ll tell you all the funny and touching things that happened there, not only in my career but to our family. It’s a joyous and heartfelt visit, about how with the love of family and friends and your inner strength, you can get through tough times. I look forward to returning to Broadway and welcoming audiences to 860.”
Previously Crystal appeared on Broadway in the musical edition of his film “Mr. Saturday Night”. He had his breakout role as a gay man in the prime time comedic drama “Soap”. His other performances include “Saturday Night Live”, “When Harry Met Sally”, “City Slickers”, and “Analyze This”.
