She has already played the somewhat demented former First Lady twice on Broadway; now Jinkx Monsoon will be reprising her role as Mary Todd Lincoln in “Oh, Mary!” on the stage in the West End of London.
Currently Monsson is playing the role of Judy Garland in “End of the Rainbow” and is scheduled to end her run on June 21.
Once again playing in a limited engagement, Monsoon will begin her role of Mary Todd Lincoln at the Trafalgar Theatre on August 17 through September 26.
Currently the role of Mary is being played by Catherine Tate until July 18. The play’s creator Cole Escola will take over the role from July 20 to August 15.
For those not familiar with the play, it takes place in the weeks before President Abraham Lincoln is assassinated when Mary Todd Lincoln “becomes a madcap, cabaret-obsessed alcoholic.”
