The historic tale tells us to “listen my children and you shall hear of the midnight ride of Paul Revere”.

But in Lancaster, New York, his friend and fellow bandmates only need to listen to find their drummer Mike.

Mike isn’t in to sports – he is a dedicated musician who understands the value of practice.  And if he is not in school or teaching, he is on the drums!

Mike; along with Josh, Tim, and Matt make up the band Blisson.

Formed just two years ago – the boys demonstrate true musicality that goes beyond their young teen-aged years.

With influences like Alice in Chains and Pearl Jam, Blisson are true hard rockers but the band’s name is very fitting – according to the band, the name comes from the Latin for overjoyed or extremely happiness.  The subject matter in their music may at times be dark but the joy of making the music shines through.

Blisson will be releasing their debut single – “Mad Tree” – next week with more singles over the next few months leading up to the release of their debut album “Seed in Tar” in October.

In preparation for the singles and album release, Blisson spent part of their December holidays touring around New York, Pennsylvania, and Ohio.  The tour included a stop in Cleveland – the home of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame; which incidentally has a room where musicians can perform. It isn’t every band that can say they performed at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Touring can be a rough and tiring venture filled with long hours and late nights.  After one such venture, Chicago penned the son “25 or 6 to 4”.  While in Pittsburgh on one of those nights; Blisson was at the Waffle House.  A bleary eyed Mike asked for a Dr. Pepsi (he wanted a diet Pepsi) and was presented with a root beer.  Could the next hit for Blisson be “Dr. Pepsi”???

Currently Blisson are high school teen, but they show the artistry and drive to survive the long haul.  After all; Kenny Loggins, Jim Mesina, Sir Paul McCartney, Daryl Hall, and George Michael were all in their teens when they hit the top of the charts.

Paul Revere made music with the hooves of his horse and the firing of his musket – Blisson have drums and guitars to fill the air with the beautiful sound of rock and roll.
