The Craftsman Truck Series kicks off a triple header weekend at Nashville Superspeedway; but once again, the foul weather is putting a damper on the on-track activities.

Thirty-eight teams brought trucks to Nashville for 36 starting spots in the Allegiance 200.

Layne Riggs leads the field on practice.

The teams get five sets of tires for practice, qualifying, and the race.

The first truck on the track is Daniel Dye who posted a time of 29.345 seconds around the 1.33 mile track.

After splitter issues, Mini Tyrrell will not be making a qualifying run and will start the race from the back of the field.

Chandler Smith is the only driver so far to break the 29 second mark with a time of 28.894 seconds.

After 24 trucks have qualified, the persistent rains have caused NASCAR to cancel qualifying.  The starting lineup will be set the by NASCAR rule book.

Before qualifying was cancelled, several of the drivers set new track records at Nashville Superspeedway.

Andres Perez had numerous issues going through inspection and was allowed to bring out the backup truck to get through inspection.

Jamie Little said that a total of 53 drivers have raced a truck for Kyle Busch Motorsports; 10 of them are still racing in the Cup Series.

Normally a spotter Stefan Parsons is racing in the Truck Series this weekend; he has Cup Series driver Connor Zilisch for his spotter.

Toni Breidinger and Jonathan Shafer did not make the race.

Stage one is 45 laps, stage two is 50, laps, and stage three is 55 laps for a total of 150 laps around the 1.33 mile concrete track.  The drivers can run all three stages on a single load of fuel.

The 14 driven by Mini Tyrrell truck will have to start the race from the back of the field due to unapproved adjustments.

The 44 truck driven by Andres Perez will also have to start from the back of the field due to inspection issues.  He will also have to serve a passthrough penalty once the green flag drops.

Joey Logano joins Jamie Little and Michael Waltrip in the broadcast booth for the race.

And the race start is delayed by more rain…

At 10:20pm the drivers have been called to their trucks!

And at 10:40pm, the driver received the command to start the engines.

Layne Riggs brings the field down for the green flag start of the race with Kaden Honeycutt alongside.  Drivers are making extended pace laps while the track driers work on drying pit road.  At 11pm NASCAR finally brings the drivers down pit road to set pit road speed.  The green flag finally flies at 11:06pm with Layne Riggs taking the lead.

Drivers quickly get three wide across the track.

Lap two, the top five are Layne Riggs, Kaden Honeycutt, Jesse Love, Christian Eckes, and Gio Ruggiero.

Stefan Parsons gets into the wall but the track stays green.

Lap eight, there is a silent lap in remembrance of Kyle Busch.  NASCAR will be observing the remembrance during every race this weekend.

Lap nine, Layne riggs is approaching a two second lead on Kaden Honeycutt.

Lap 10, Chandler Smiith has moved up eleven spots since the race start.

Lap 12, Andres Perez is the only driver not on the lead lap; but he had to serve a passthrough penalty on race start.

Lap 14, Ross Chastain started the race in 21st, but is slowly working his way through the field and is in a battle for 16th.

Lap 16, Layne Riggs has pulled out toe a lead of over two seconds on Kaden Honeycutt; Jesse Love, Christian Eckes, and Gio Ruggiero round out the top five.

Lap 20, Layne Riggs holds a lead of over two seconds on Kaden Honeycutt with Jesse Love in third over five seconds back.

Lap 21, Layne Riggs has begun lapping slower traffic.

Lap 24, Layne Riggs has pulled out to a two and a half second lead on Kaden Honeycutt; Jesse Love, Christian Eckes, and Gio Ruggiero round out the top five.

Parker Retzlaff reports a possible brake issue; saying he has no brake pedal.

Lap 28, there are 28 trucks on the lead lap.

Lap 29, Layne Riggs has increased his lead to three seconds on Kaden Honeycutt.

Lap 30, Chandler Smith started the race in 22nd place; he is now in sixth, just outside the top five.

Lap 31, there are now only 26 trucks on the lead laps with Layne Riggs over three seconds out in front.

Lap 35, Layne Riggs is approaching four seconds out in front of the field and there are just 24 trucks on the lead lap.

Ten laps remaining in stage one, Layne Riggs has a 4.45 second lead on Kaden Honeycutt with 24 trucks on the lead lap.

Just six laps remain in stage one with Layne Riggs nearly four seconds ahead of Kaden Honeycutt with 22 trucks on the lead lap.

Four laps to go, Layne Riggs lead is down to three seconds as the navigates slower traffic.

Layne Riggs has won races twice this season; in both wins qualifying was cancelled due to rain…as it was today.

Drivers come down pit road for service with Layne Riggs winning the race off of pit road; followed by Kaden Honeycutt and Christian Eckes; Brandon Jones and Grant Enfinger round out the top five.

Parker Retzlaff gets hit by Mini Tyrrell and ends up in his pit box backwards.  There is a bit of damage to the truck but mostly cosmetic.

Tyler Reif gets into the wall and brings out the caution flag after a three wide battle for position.

Stewart Friesen had to make a second trip down pit road after the crew knocked the valve stem off and the tire went flat.

The caution flag comes out when Carson Fergusson has major damage to the truck after he got loose and into the wall.

Kaden Honeycutt had caught up to Layne Riggs and was close to passing for the lead when the caution flag came out.

The caution flag comes out on lap 69 for a crash involving Jake Garcia, Jesse Love, and Tanner Gray.

Jesse Love is taking his truck to the garage.

Kaden Honeycutt is reporting possible voltage issues.

Dawson Sutton was charged with a restart violation during the last restart.

Lap 77, Layne Riggs has pulled out to a lead of over a second on Christian Eckes. 

Lap 79, the caution flag comes out for debris on the track.

Tanner Gray takes his truck to the garage.

Jake Garcia has parts and pieces hanging all over his truck and comes down pit road and to the garage.

There are 22 trucks on the lead lap.

Seven drivers came down pit road for service including the Melon Man.

Gio Ruggiero was caught speeding on pit road and will have to restart the race from the back of the longest line.

Andres Perez is the “lucky dog” and back on the lead lap after going down a lap at the start of the race.

Layne Riggs brings the field down for the green flag restart with Christian Eckes alongside on lap 85.  Riggs takes the lead and pulls away from the field.  Drivers spread out three and four wide across the track.

After starting the race in last place, Daniel Dye is in the top 10 in eighth place.

Lap 86, Layne Riggs has a one second lead on Kaden Honeycutt.

Ross Chastain has entered the top 10.

With five laps remaining in stage two, Layne Riggs has a near second and a half lead on Kaden Honeycutt; Chandler Smith, Christian Eckes, and Grant Enfinger round out the top five.

Layne Riggs wins stage two for the stage sweep.  He has been the only leader so far.

Drivers come down pit road for service but not every driver came down pit road.  For the first time in the race, Layne Riggs is not the leader.

Melon Man Ross Chastain brings the field down for the green flag start of stage three with Rajah Caruth alongside on lap 104.  Chastain gets out in front for the lead as the drivers fan out three and four wide through the field.

With 47 laps remaining in the race, Rajah Caruth passes Ross Chastain for the lead; Kaden Honeycutt, Tyler Ankrum, and Andres Perez round out the top five.

William Sawalich is off the track.

Lap 108, Rajah Caruth has pulled out to a half second lead on Ross Chastain.  Caruth is the defending champion of the race after winning last year.

Rajah Caruth is driving the number seven truck tonight; Kyle Busch was scheduled to drive that truck.

Justin Haley is off the track.

Just 37 laps remaining in the race; Rajah Caruth has pulled out to a one second lead on Ross Chastain; Kaden Honeycutt, Tyler Ankrum, and Andres Perez round out the top five.

Kaden Honeycutt is slowed on the track; he doesn’t quite make it to pit road and the caution flag comes out with 31 laps remaining in the race.  He reports that he has no power.  He gets a push from the tow truck to his pit stall.  The hood is up and the crew is changing the battery at the rar of the truck.

Several drivers come down pit road for service.

Layne Riggs reported that he couldn’t turn the steering wheel and came down pit road for adjustments.

Kaden Honeycutt is moving again and bac on the track in 28th place, three laps down.

Rajah Caruth brings the field down for the green flag restart with Ross Chastain alongside with just 26 laps remaining in the race.  Caruth gets out in front after a push from behind.  The drivers were spread out five wide in a battle for position.

The top five are Rajah Caruth, Ross Chastain, Tyler Ankrum, Andres Perez, and Chandler Smith.

With 22 laps remaining in the race, Rajah Caruth has pulled out to a lead of over a second on Ross Chastain.

The caution flag comes out with 22 laps to go for Ben Rhodes who lost a tire.  NASCAR is holding Rhodes two laps for the lost tire.

Rajah Caruth brings the field down for the green flag restart with Ross Chastain alongside with just 16 laps to go.  Ross Chastain gets a push from Chandler Smith and edges out for the lead.  Rajah Caruth passes Ross Chastain for the lead.

Chandler Smith pass Ross Chastain for second.

The top five are Rajah Caruth, Chandler Smith, Ross Chastain, Andres Perez, and Layne Riggs.

Lay Riggs is working his way back through the field and is up to fifth place.

Dawson Sutton  has a tire rub.

Ten to go, Rajah Caruth has a half second lead on Chandler Smith; Ross Chastain, Layne Riggs, and Tyler Ankrum round out the top five.

Layne Riggs passes Ross Chastain with eight laps to go.

Seven to go, Rajah Caruth holds on to the lead with Chandler smith in second; but Layne Riggs is coming on strong.  He is running laps faster than the leader and is just one second behind the leader.

There are just 21 trucks on the lead lap.

Three to go, Layne Riggs passes Chandler Smith for second; just a quarter of a second behind leader Rajah Caruth.

Two to go, Layne Riggs comes up on the outside to battle with Rajab Caruth.

In a three way battle for the lead, the white flag comes out.

Layne Riggs passes Rajah Caruth on the final lap for the win!  This is Riggs’ third win of the season.

Layne finally has a guitar of his own; Dad has three!
