After much thought from Aaron Rodgers and numerous rumours from the fans, the decision has been made and Rodgers has signed a one year contract to remain the quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

With incentives, Rodgers is set to make up to $25 million with $22 million guaranteed money.

This is the 22nd NFL season for the 42 year old quarterback.  While not the oldest player to play in the NFL; he is among the older player.  At 48 Geroge Blanda was the oldest player in the NFL and played quarterback and placekicker for the then Oakland Raiders.

He is one of just four QB’s to have 35,000 passing yards and 25,000 rushing yards throughout his career. he joins Fran Tarkenton, John Elway, and Donovan McNabb.

Rodgers was drafted 24th overall by the Green Bay Packers in 2005 where he stayed until he was traded to the New York Jets in 2023.  After being released by the Jets at the end of the 2024 season, Rodgers joined the Pittsburgh Steelers.  The 2026 season will be his second year as a Steeler…and possibly his final year in the NFL.
