The global sensation known as The World Cup is only a month away and FIFA continues to release tickets for the games at ever increasing prices.
The final match of the competition is set for July 19 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
FIFA just released a new batch of tickets for that game with the best seats drawing the outrageous price of $32,970 each!
That is three times the price of the previous “best seat” tickets which were listed at $10,990 for the final. The tickets were listed at “wheelchair and easy access amenity” category one seats.
Currently the cheapest ticket price for a semi-final or final game is $840 and that is for the Team USA group-stage finale against Turkey at So-Fi Stadium in Inglewood, CA.
Tickets for the July 14 semifinal game at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas are: $11,130, $4,330, $3,710 and $2,705.
Tickets for the semifinal game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia are listed at $10,635, $3,545 and $2,725.
Team USA opens their competition on June 12 against Paraguay at So-Fi Stadium with ticket prices currently listed at $2,735, $1,940 and $1,120,
The Team USA game against Australia in Seattle ticket prices are listed at $2,715.
And the June 19 game against Turkey at So-Fi Stadium to close out the group-stage play are listed at $2,970, $1,345, $990 and $840.
Non-U.S. football fans already face a number of challenges just getting into the United States under current the current administration immigration rules; however FIFA president defended his outrageous ticket prices by saying, “we have to look at the market. We are in a market in which entertainment is the most developed in the world, so we have to apply market rates. In the U.S. it is permitted to resell tickets, as well, so if you were to sell tickets at the price which is too low, these tickets will be resold at a much higher price. And as a matter of fact, even though some people are saying that the ticket prices we have are high, they still end up on the resale market at an even higher price, more than double of our price.”
