The nominees for the 79th annual Tony Awards were announced this morning with the vampire musical “The Lost Boys” and “Schmigadoon!” topping the list with 12 nominations each.  “Death of a Salesman”, “Ragtime”, “The Rocky Horror Show”, and “Cats: The Jellicle Ball” also earned multiple nominations with 24 shows earning at least one nomination.

At 96, Une Squibb became the oldest actor in the history of the Tony Awards to earn a nomination for her role in “Marjorie Prime”.  And it is her first!

Earning his ninth Tony nomination, Danny Burstein becomes the most nominated male actor in Tony Award history.

The 79th annual Tony Awards will be presented June 7 in a live television event from Radio City Music Hall in New York City with pop music star P!nk hosting the gala event.

While the musical icon has yet to make her acting debut on Broadway, she has her music appearing in two shows currently running – “Moulin Rouge! The Musical” and “& Juliet”.
