Celebrating 30 years of frozen custard with the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series and the Andy’s Frozen Custard 340.
Thirty-eight teams have brought cars to Texas Motor Speedway for 38 starting spots including Kyle Larson driving the JR Motorsports number 88 car and Austin Dillon.
The drivers have a full 50 minute practice session before making a qualifying run.
The Dash-4-Cash drivers this week are Sammy Smith, Sheldon Creed, Corey Day, and Brent Crews.
Taylor Gray is reporting some possible fuel pressure or power issues.
Corey Day was very crafty on the radio; reporting that he knew what the car needed but he wasn’t going to say it over an open radio.
Jesse Love is reporting some handling issues; saying the car is tight – way off from what they had expected.
Several of the drivers are making their debut starts at Texas Motor Speedway.
Not only did Justin Allgaier set the single lap record within the first five minutes of practice; he also topped the leaderboard in multiple lap runs.
Taylor Gray reports that the issue with his car was a loose plug wire.
The first car on the track to make a qualifying run is Austin Dillon who posted a time of 29.352 seconds around the 1.5 mile track.
Kyle Larson is the first driver to break the 29 second mark with a time of 28.746 seconds
With a time of 28.631 seconds, Justin Allgaier puts his number seven car on the pole with Brandon Jones starting alongside on the front row.

Celebrating 40 years of frozen custard, Andy’s has announced that is Sam Mayer – driver of the Andy’s Frozen Custard car – wins the race, he will have an item on the Andy’s menu named for him.
Stages one and two are 45 laps each with stage three lasting 110 laps for a total of 200 laps around the 1.5 mile track.
Justin Allgaier brings the field down for the green flag start of the race with Brandon Jones alongside. Allgaier gets out in front as cars are crashing behind him to bring out the first caution flag of the race.
Corey Day William Sawalich, Taylor Gray, Jeb Burton, and Carson Kvapil were all involved. Corey Day got into the wall hard.

The caution flag comes out for another crash involving Austin Green and Brad Perez. Austin Green is stopped in the grass. Perez gets into the wall and has to be towed away from the track. There is a great deal of debris on the track.
After an extended cleanup, Justin Allgaier brings the field down for the green flag restart with Kyle Larson alongside on lap 25. Allgaier and Larson are playing bumper cars around the track under the caution flag. Allgaier gets out in front to hold on to the lead. Drivers are getting three wide.
Lap 26, the top five are Justin Allgaier, Connor Zilisch, Kyle Larson, Brandon Jones, and Sheldon Creed.
Lap 30, Justin Allgaier has pulled out to a lead of two and a half seconds on Connor Zilisch; Kyle Larson, Brandon Jones, and Brent Crews round out the top five.
Lap 33, after having to start the race from the back of the field for unapproved adjustments, Ryan Sieg has moved up 17 spots and is now in the top 20.

The caution flag comes out for the fifth time on lap 67 for debris on the track after Austin Dillon had a blown tire; spewing debris everywhere.
