The Craftsman Truck Series kicks off a triple header weekend at Texas Motor Speedway with the Speedy Cash 250 under the lights on Friday night.

Thirty-five teams have brought trucks to TMS for 36 starting spots – everybody will make the race.  Joining the field this week are Cup Series drivers Carson Hocevar, Ross Chastain, and Kyle Busch.  FOX broadcaster Parker Kligerman is also in the field this week, driving the Ram Truck number 25 – the guest truck from Kaulig Racing.

Twenty of his over 200 race wins across all three racing series came at Texas Motor Speedway for Kyle Busch; he has won in his last four visits to Texas.

Several drivers are being held from practice for penalties related to inspections…
The five truck driven by William Sawalich, the 15 truck driven by Tanner Gray, the 17 truck driven by Gio Ruggiero, and the 88 truck driven by Ty Majeski are all being held for 10 minutes.

The number two truck driven by Clayton Green is being held for 20 minutes.

The 93 truck driven by Caleb Costner is being held for 25 minutes.

The 22 truck driven by Josh Reaume and the 33 truck driven by Frankie Muniz are being held for the entire practice session.

The drivers have a full practice session of 50 minutes before making a qualifying run to set the field.

Cory Roper gets into the wall and has some damage; the track stays green.

Jake Garcia topped the leaderboard in single lap times with Ross Chastain and Kaden Honeycutt leading the way in multiple laps.

The first driver on the track to make a qualifying run is Toni Breidinger in her first start in the Truck Series this season who posted a time of 29.815 seconds around the 1.5 mile track.

Layne Riggs had an issue on his qualifying run and did not complete the run.  The crew pushes the truck to the garage.  Riggs said that he put his foot to the floor but the truck didn’t go with a power issue.  He noted that he isn’t worried about getting up to the front during the race.

With a time of 29.174 seconds Ben Rhodes sits on the pole and will bring the field to green with Jake Gardia starting alongside on the front row.

Stages one and two of the race are 40 laps each with stage three lasting 87 laps for a total of 167 laps around the 1.5 mile track.  The drivers can run 50 to 55 laps on a single load of fuel.

Cup Series driver Joey Logano joins Jamie Little and Michael Waltrip in the FOX broadcast booth for the race.

Ben Rhodes brings the field down for the green flag start of the race with teammate Jake Garcia alongside.  Rhosdes edges out for the lead with Jake Garcia and Gio Ruggiero battling for second.

Lap three, the top five are Ben Rhodes, Jake Garcia, Gio Ruggiero, Chandler Smith, and Tanner Gray.

Drivers are getting three wide across the track.

Lap five, Ben Rhodes has a third of a second lead on Jake Garcia; Gio Ruggiero, Chandler Smith, and Tanner Gray round out the top five.

Lap seven, after starting from the back of the field, Layne Riggs is already up to 24th.

Lap eight, driving the number 25 Ram truck, Parker Kligerman has entered the top 20.

Lap nine, Carson Hocevar passes Kyle Busch for seventh.

Jake Garcia has caught leader Ben Rhodes and begins to challenge for the lead.

Lap 12, Carson Hocevar passes Cole Butcher for sixth.  Ben Rhodes holds on to the lead of the race.

Kyle Busch is having some steering issues and has fallen to 10th place.

Lap 18,  Caleb Costner is the only truck one lap down.

Lap 19, Kyle Busch makes an unscheduled trip down pit road with a flat tire after getting into the wall.

Lap 20, Layne Riggs has moved up 21 spots and is now in the top 15 in 13th.

Lap 22, the top five are Ben Rhodes, Chandler Smith, Gio Ruggiero, Carson Hocevar, and Tanner Gray.

The caution flag comes out on lap 25 when Cory Roper is stopped against the wall after spinning out.

Drivers come down pit road for service but the leaders stay out on the track.  Corey LaJoie has an extended pit stop while the crew searches for the reason behind a tire issue.

Jake Garcia had a slow pit stop with a corded tire issue.

Ben Rhodes brings the field down for the green flag restart with Chandler Smith alongside on lap 30.  Rhodes gets out in front to hold on to the lead.  Carson Hocevar dropped down to make it a three wide battle.  Hocevar takes second.

Lap 31, the top five are Ben Rhodes, Carson Hocevar, Gio Ruggiero, Kaden Honeycutt, and Chandler Smith.

Mini Tyrrell and Brennen Queen were charged with a restart violation and will have to serve a passthrough penalty.

Lap 34, the battle begins for the lead between Ben Rhodes and Carson Hocevar.

Layne Riggs has entered the top 10 with five laps remaining in stage one.

After staying out on the track, Brandon Jones is the new leader.

Ross Chastain is reporting his truck is still very tight.

Brandon Jones brings the field down for the green flag start of stage two with Tanner Gray alongside on lap 48.  Brandon Jones takes the lead.  Carson Hocevar makes it a three wide battle and takes three spots and works his way to fifth.

Lap 49, Carson Hocevar restarted the race in 12th place; he is now in third!

Lap 50, Carson Hocevar passes Layne Riggs for second and aims for leader Brandon Jones.

The caution flag comes out on lap 51 when Cole Butcher spins out and backs into the wall.  Kye Busch is the “lucky dog”.

Christian Eckes is reporting an alternator issue.  The crew changed the battery but he is still having issues.

Lap 58,  Layne Riggs and Brandon Jones battle for the lead.  Carson Hocevar comes up to make it a three way battle.

Lap 59 Carson Hocevar passes Brandon Jones to take the lead.  Ben Rhodes takes second place.

Drivers are getting three and four wide in a battle for position.

Lap 61, the top five are Carson Hocevar, Ben Rhodes, Ross Chastain, Layne Riggs, and Brandon Jones.

Cole Butcher is out of the race with 29 trucks on the lead lap.

Back on the lead lap, Kyle Busch is up to 21st.

Lap 64, Carson Hocevar leads the race with Ben Rhodes, Ross Chastain, and Layen Riggs in a battle for second.

Lap 66, Carson Hocevar has pulled out to a half second lead on Ben Rhodes; Layne Riggs, Ross Chastain, and Brandon Jones round out the top five.

Lap 69, Layne Riggs passes Ben Rhodes on the outside to take second place.

With nine laps remaining in stage two, Layne Riggs is closing in on leader Carson Hocevar.

The caution flag comes out when Kris Wright gets into the wall and has a flat tire.

Drivers come down pit road including the leaders. 

There is a lot of smoke coming out of Layne Riggs’ truck on pit road.  The crew is working on the rear window.

Dawson Sutton is the new leader with Mini Tyrrell in second.

With just two laps remaining in stage two, Dawson Sutton brings the field down for the green flag restart with Mini Tyrrell alongside.  Driver gets four wide in a battle for the lead.  Mini Tyrrell takes the lead with Carson Hocevar in second.

Lap 91, after restarting the race from the back of the field, Layne Riggs has entered the top 20.

Lap 93, Carson Hocevar has pulled out to a one second lead on Gio Ruggiero; Kaden Honeycutt, Tyler Ankrum, and Chandler Smith round out the top five.

Lap 95, Gio Ruggiero has closed the gap on leader Carson Hocevar to just a quarter of a second.

Lap 100, Carson Hocevar leads the race with Gio Ruggiero on his bumper.  Layne Riggs battles with Kyle Busch for eleventh.

Lap 102, Kyle Busch enters the top 10.

Conner Jones was charged with speeding on pit road and will have to serve a passthrough penalty.

Lap 103, the top five are Carson Hocevar, Kaden Honeycutt, Gio Ruggiero, Tyler Ankrum, and Chandler Smith.

Lap 110, Layne Riggs enters the top five.

FOX broadcasters Clint Bowyer will join the Truck Series race at Dover and Jamie McMurray will drive in the Truck Series race at Naval Base Coronado.

With 54 laps remaining in the race, the drivers are now within their window to make a pit stop and finish the race.

Lap 115, the top five are Carson Hocevar, Kaden Honeycutt, Gio Ruggiero, Layne Riggs, and Chandler Smith.

Leaders have encountered slower traffic. 

There are 22 trucks on the lead lap.

Brandon Jones was charged with having too many crew members over the wall during his pit stop and will have to serve a passthrough penalty.

Lap 121, Carson Hocevar has pulled out to a lead of over a second and a half on Kaden Honeycutt.

Lap 122 Carson Hocevar makes his green flag pit stop.  Layne Riggs is the new leader.  Hocevar had a slow stop when the tire changer had trouble with the right front tire.  He returns to the track in 20th place.

Lap 127, Layne Riggs comes down pit road for service.

Stewart Friesen is the new leader.

Once green flag pit stops cycle through, Gio Ruggiero will be the leader.

Corey LaJoie was caught speeding on pit road and will have to serve a passthrough penalty.

Just 35 laps remaining in the race; Gio Ruggiero leads the race with Kaden Honeycutt in second; Carson Hocevar, Layne Riggs, and Grant Enfinger round out the top five.

With 27 laps to go, leader Gio Ruggiero encounters slower traffic.

The caution flag comes out on lap 144 when Tyler Ankrum goes through a long spin down the track.

Gio Ruggiero brings the field down for the green flag restart with Kaden Honeycutt alongside with just 19 laps remaining in the race.  Carson Hocevar makes it a three wide battle with Kaden Honeycutt out in front.

The top five are Kaden Honeycutt, Carson Hocevar, Kyle Busch, Gio Ruggiero, and Brandon Jones.

Carson Hocevar moves down on the inside and passes Kaden Honeycutt for the lead with 15 laps to go.

With just 14 laps remaining in the race, Carson Hocevar leads the race with Kaden Honeycutt in second; Kyle Busch, Gio Ruggiero, and Brandon Jones round out the top five.

Stewart Friesen and Grant Enfinger bring out the caution flag with just eleven laps to go.  Friesen ends up in the grass after hitting the wall.  Grant Enfinger tries to avoid Friesen and also ends up in the grass. 

NASCAR has red flagged the race in order to get the track cleaned up.

The cars are moving again with 10 laps remaining in the race. 

Carson Hocevar brings the field down for the green flag shootout to the end with just seven laps remaining in the race.  Teammate Kyle Busch starts alongside on the front row.  Hocevar gets a big push and gets out in front for the lead.

Conner Jones, Justin Haley, and Jake Garcia all ended up in the grass causing significant damage to the trucks.  Tanner Gray was also involved and is on the tow truck out of the race.

The race goes into overtime!

The race has been red flagged for a second time.

For his second week in a row, Carson Hocevar wins the race. 

Hocevar’s crew chief told Carson he could do whatever he wanted, just don’t hit the wall!

Hocevar does a burnout and a few donuts before he gets out of the truck to a rousing crowd but doesn’t drive it from the window.  He gave the checkered flag to a kid.

After his interview, Carson said that he was going to burn it down some more.
