There was a time when “Breaking News” flashed on the screen, it truly meant something VERY important was coming – the death of a major star or leader or an announcement a major natural disaster, etc.
So it was with the mention of a “star” or “celebrity”; the name truly was a person of star quality – a name that was known the world over.
These days “Breaking News” is on par with the sports scores and a “celebrity” is anyone who has shown their face on a TV show, competition, or streaming event.
“Dancing with the Stars” used to be just that – professional dancers who spent three months teaching Hollywood’s elite how to Ballroom dance and the winners were selected by how well those celebrities improved and learned the dances.
Over the years, the Hollywood elite have dropped away to be replaced by “influencers”, wanna-be stars, and losing reality competition contestants.
With the new season still over four months away, “Dancing with the Stars” has announced the first two “stars” for season 35 of the show. “The Traitors” and “Love Island” alum Maura Higgins and “Summer House” and “The Traitors” alum Ciara Miller.
The full cast of “stars” and professional dancers will be revealed just a few weeks prior to the start of the season in the fall. However, it has been announced that that hosts Julianne Hough and Alfonso Ribeiro will be returning for another season with judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli, and head judge Derek Hough making a return to the judging table.
