I just saw a post on social media that asked the question, “What is the most successful lie ever spread in human history?”

After thinking for a bit, my answer if Freedom!

Why???

Because it’s a hoax!

Do we truly have freedom???

There are laws that are supposed to guarantee freedoms but they are laws that dictate that freedom. There is ALWAYS somebody pulling the strings!

From the very beginning there has been SOMEBODY pulling the strings and dictating what we can and cannot do.

In the Torah there are 613 laws – 248 positive ones and 365 negative (don’t do this) ones.

The Bible has even more and I am sure other books for other religions have plenty of their own.

The governments of every country have volumes of books with laws telling its citizens what they can and cannot do and just like in ancient Egypt a new set of laws appears with every new leader of a nation.

Residents of the United States have seen long established FREEDOMS erased under the most recent change of leadership.

So, are we truly FREE????

My conscience tells me certain acts are not right and I should not do them; but there are others who have no issue with doing those acts I deem wrong. So where does the freedom come in?

Some “lies” throughout history have been proven wrong via science and technology as people became more aware of the world around them…

Early man believed that the earth was the center of our universe – we now know that is not true, the sun is the center of our solar system.

In those days there was no science – only religion and sorcery. We now know that science truly exists.

While Norsemen were sailing the seas and making discoveries; the rest of the world believed that the Earth was flat and and if they sailed away across the sea, they would fall off. Where they would go is another big question…but now at least most people understand that the Earth is indeed round and this thing called gravity keeps us from falling off.

But through it all, leaders of nations and religions were busy telling the citizens what was right and wrong, how to believe, how to think, and how they could be FREE!

My FREEDOM OF SPEECH tells me I can write this post, but if a leader does not like what I have to say, they can throw accusations at me, sue me, or even have me arrested; so is my FREEDOM OF SPEECH truly free????

The biggest successful lie in human history…FREEDOM!
