The Academy award winning animated film “Happy Feet” will be heading for the stage. Using music from the film, the film about the tap-dancing penguin will be turned into a jukebox musical with it eye on Broadway.
Tony Award winning director Michael Arden and author Douglas Lyons are overseeing the project with Ayodele Casel, Lauren Yalango-Grant, and Christopher “Cree” Grant handling the choreography. Tony Award winning producer Dori Berinstein be leading the production team.
“Happy Feet” tells the story of Mumble – tap dancing penguin who cannot sing and attract a mate – who embarks on a voyage across Antarctica.
Currently there is no timeline set for production of the musical with a number of projects on the table.
