Last year Broadway set a new box office record and this year is headed for new records; including numerous performance extensions.

The latest show to extend their Broadway run is the musical “Ragtime”.

This marks the second time the show has been extended.  The show is now set to run through August 2.

The revival opened at The Lincoln Center Theater on October 16, 2025 and was originally scheduled for a limited run.

“Ragtime” is set in the early 1900’s and tells the story of Coalhouse Walker Jr – a man of colour whose purchase of a Model T Ford sets off a chain of events that spreads across New York City society and includes “magician Harry Houdini, industrialist Henry Ford, celebrity party girl Evelyn Nesbit, civil rights leader Booker T. Washington, architect Stanford White, anarchist Emma Goldman, a Jewish Latvian immigrant who becomes a movie director, and an upper class white family living in suburban New Rochelle.”

The musical originally debuted on Broadway in 1998 after a run in Toronto.
