The revival of the Tony Award winning play “Tru” – about Truman Capote – is set to open to previews on March 6 with an official opening on March 19 at the Off-Broadway venue Library of Upper East Side mansion House of the Redeemer.
The play starring Tony Award winning actor Jesse Tyler Ferguson has been extended three weeks and is set to close May 3.
Playwright Jay Presson Allen penned the play using Capote’s own words and has set the play in Capote’s apartment in 1975.
The play originally opened in 1989 at the Booth Theatre with Robert Morse as Capote and went on to win the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Play for his performance at the 1990 Tony Award ceremony.
