As a part of the BRIT Awards ceremony on February 28 in Manchester, The BRITS honoured Birmingham native and metal pioneer Ozzy Osbourne with a Lifetime Achievement Award.
The Prince of Darkness died last year just weeks after his final performance in front of the hometown crowd.
The presentation included an all star jam performance from Robbie Williams, Zakk Wylde, Robert Trujillo, Tommy Clufetos, and Andrew Wakeman of “No More Tears”.
Ozzy’s widow Sharon, daughter Kelly, and son Louis took the stage to accept the award. In accepting the award Sharon said, “I’m honored to accept this award for my gorgeous husband. God knows I wish he was here to accept it himself. Ozzy is looking down on us right now. He rose to become one of the most recognizable and respected musicians. To be honest with you, he was the most humble egomaniac you will ever meet. At the end of the day, he will always be a rock star. If Ozzy was here tonight he would be so proud to receive this from the country that he loved.”
