Traditionally, much of Broadway is closed on Mondays; giving the artists a day to recoup after eight performances in six days.

But this time around, Mother Nature had a say in the matter and after an ongoing blizzard hit the northeast, Broadway has gone dark!

“Chicago”, “Every Brilliant Thing”, “The Great Gatsby”, “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child”, and “SIX: The Musical” have all cancelled performances and will be rescheduling them for the near future provided the storm has cleared and the city open once again after over two feet of snow has fallen on the city.

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani has issued a travel ban for the city after the storm.

The Broadway League has issued a statement directing people with tickets to contact their point of purchase for issues with their tickets.

Currently “Chicago” has announced that they are adding a Thursday matinee March 5 at 2pm to replace the cancelled show.

Theater fans are advised to check websites for theatres and shows to determine when Broadway is open once again.
