The O’Reilly Auto Parts Series gears up for the Bennett Transportation & Logistics 250 with a qualifying session on Friday afternoon for some Saturday evening racing to cap off a double header.
Thirty-nine teams brought cars for 38 starting spots.
The drivers do not get any practice time before taking to the track to qualify.
The first driver on the track is Dawson Cram who posted a time of 33.577 seconds around the 1.5 mile track.
Sam Mayer is the first driver to break the 32 second mark with a time of 31.873 seconds.

Ross Chastain will have to start the race from the back of the field after the crew had to make some repairs to the clutch.
Justin Allgaier will also have to start the race from the back of the field after the crew made some unapproved adjustments to the car.

Lap three, the top five are Sam Mayer, Sheldon Creed, Taylor Gray, Rajah Caruth, and Carson Kvapil.
The caution flag comes out on lap five for a crash. The drivers were getting pretty squirrely before the crash. Harrison Burton, Blaine Perkins, Kyle Sieg, Corey Day, Patrick Staropoli, and Ryan Sieg were all involved in the wreck. Ryan Sieg is out of the race.
Sam Mayer brings the field down for the green flag restart on lap 13 with Taylor Gray alongside. Getting a push from teammate Sheldon Creed, Sam Mayer takes the lead. Mayer’s car sis smoking after some contact with Taylor Gray.
The smoke has settle down and Sam Mayer continues to battle for the lead.

Lap 21, after starting at the back of the field, Ross Chastain and Justin Allgaier have entered the top 20.
Lap 22, Sam Mayer leads the race; Sheldon Creed, Rajah Caruth, Taylor Gray, and Gio Ruggiero round out the top five.
Anthony Alfredo makes an unscheduled trip down the pit road for a flat tire. He was charged with a commitment cone violation and had to serve a passthrough penalty.

Sam Mayer was caught speeding on pit road and had to serve a pass through penalty. Mayer is now two laps down.

Drivers come down pit road for service with William Sawalich winning the race off of pit road after taking only two tires.
Tire changer Alex Morgan said that he is fine after getting hit by Taylor Gray’s car; adding that he was glad the car is fine.
William Sawalich brings the field down for the green flag restart with Carson Kvapil alongside on lap 99. Carson Kvapil gets out in front for the lead with Justin Allgaier on his bumper.
Lap 100, the top five are Carson Kvapil, Jusitn Allgaier, Corey Day, Sheldon Creed, and William Sawalich.

The caution flag comes out for “the big one” with 22 laps to go. Taylor Gray, Sammy Smith, Austin Green, Brennan Poole, Ryan Ellis, Lavar Scott, Mason Maggio, Nick Leitz, Gio Ruggiero, and Rajah Caruth were all involved.
Sam Mayer is the “lucky dog” and is back on the lead lap.

Ross Chastain brings the field down for the green flag restart with just 14 laps remaining in the race. Austin Hill starts alongside the Melon Man on the inside. Sheldon Creed gives Ross Chastain a push for the lead but Austin Hill moves up on the inside to battle for the lead.
Josh William spins out and hits the wall to bring out the seventh caution flag. Rajah Caruth got loose but saved the car.

NASCAR has red flagged the race to get the track cleaned up.
