The O’Reilly Auto Parts Series gears up for the Bennett Transportation & Logistics 250 with a qualifying session on Friday afternoon for some Saturday evening racing to cap off a double header.

Thirty-nine teams brought cars for 38 starting spots.

The drivers do not get any practice time before taking to the track to qualify.

The first driver on the track is Dawson Cram who posted a time of 33.577 seconds around the 1.5 mile track.

Sam Mayer is the first driver to break the 32 second mark with a time of 31.873 seconds.

With a time of 31.804 seconds Sam Mayer puts his number 41 car on the pole with Carson Kvapil alongside on the front row.

Stages one and two are 45 laps each with stage three lasting 73 laps for a total of 163 laps around the 1.5 mile track.

Ross Chastain will have to start the race from the back of the field after the crew had to make some repairs to the clutch.

Justin Allgaier will also have to start the race from the back of the field after the crew made some unapproved adjustments to the car.

Jeb Burton and Jeremy Clements will also be starting the race from the back of the field after the crew made some unapproved adjustments to the cars.

Sam Mayer brings the field down for the green flag start of the race with Carson Kvapil alongside.  Getting a push from teammate Sheldon Creed, Sam Mayer edges out for the lead. 

Lap three, the top five are Sam Mayer, Sheldon Creed, Taylor Gray, Rajah Caruth, and Carson Kvapil.

The caution flag comes out on lap five for a crash.  The drivers were getting pretty squirrely before the crash.  Harrison Burton, Blaine Perkins, Kyle Sieg, Corey Day, Patrick Staropoli, and Ryan Sieg were all involved in the wreck.  Ryan Sieg is out of the race.

Sam Mayer brings the field down for the green flag restart on lap 13 with Taylor Gray alongside.  Getting a push from teammate Sheldon Creed, Sam Mayer takes the lead.  Mayer’s car sis smoking after some contact with Taylor Gray.

The smoke has settle down and Sam Mayer continues to battle for the lead.

Lap 17, the top five are Sam Mayer, Taylor Gray, Sheldon Creed, Carson Kvapil, and Rajah Caruth.

Drivers are getting three wide back in the field.

Lap 21, after starting at the back of the field, Ross Chastain and Justin Allgaier have entered the top 20.

Lap 22, Sam Mayer leads the race; Sheldon Creed, Rajah Caruth, Taylor Gray, and Gio Ruggiero round out the top five.

Anthony Alfredo makes an unscheduled trip down the pit road for a flat tire.  He was charged with a commitment cone violation and had to serve a passthrough penalty.

Lap 29, the top five are Rajah Caruth, Jesse Love, Sheldon Creed, Austin Hill, and Parker Retzlaff.

Lap 31, Jesse Love is the new leader with Rajah Caruth in second; Sheldon Creed, Parker Retzlaff, and Taylor Gray wound out the top five.

Sam Mayer was caught speeding on pit road and had to serve a pass through penalty.  Mayer is now two laps down.

Lap 34, Justin Allgaier and Ross Chastain have entered the top 10.

Lap 37, Austin Hill gets loose and falls in the field.

Five laps to go in stage one, Jesse Love leads the race with Parker Retzlaff in second; Taylor Gray, Rajah Caruth, and Justin Allgaier round out the top five.

Jesse Love brings the field down for the green flag start of stage two with Sheldon Creed alongside on lap 55.

The top five are Jesse Love, Sheldon Creed, Carson Kvapil, Justin Allgaier, and Corey Day.

Joey Gase is out of the race for an engine issue.

Lap 60, Jesse Love leads the race with Sheldon Creed in second; Justin Allgaier, Rajah Caruth, and Carson Kvapil round out the top five.

Lap 65, Sheldon Creed leads the race but Jesse Love comes up on the inside to battle for the lead.

Lap 67, the top five are Sheldon Creed, Justin Allgaier, Jesse Love, Rajah Caruth, and Sammy Smith.

Lap 73, Sheldon Creed and Justin Allgaier battle for the lead when Rajah Caruth makes it a three wide battle and gets out in front for the lead.

The top five are Rajah Caruth, Sheldon Creed, Carson Kvapil, Justin Allgaier, and Corey Day.

Lap 76, Sheldon Creed moves up on the inside to battle with Rajah Caruth for the lead.

Lap 78, Rajah Caruth holds on to the lead with teammate Justin Allgaier in second; Corey Day, Carson Kvapil, and Sheldon Creed round out the top five.

Drivers come down pit road for service with William Sawalich winning the race off of pit road after taking only two tires.

Tire changer Alex Morgan said that he is fine after getting hit by Taylor Gray’s car; adding that he was glad the car is fine.

William Sawalich brings the field down for the green flag restart with Carson Kvapil alongside on lap 99.  Carson Kvapil gets out in front for the lead with Justin Allgaier on his bumper.

Lap 100, the top five are Carson Kvapil, Jusitn Allgaier, Corey Day, Sheldon Creed, and William Sawalich.

The drivers do not need to make a stop in this stage for fuel.

Austin Hill passes Sheldon Creed for fourth.

The caution flag comes out with 58 laps to go.  Justin Allgaier, Corey Day, and Carson Kvapil were all involved.  Day made contact with both of the JR Motorsports drivers.

Austin Hill brings the field down for the green flag restart with William Sawalich alongside with 51 laps remaining in the race.  Hill gets out in front for the lead.

The top five are Austin Hil, Sheldon Creed, Sammy Smith, Jesse Love, and William Sawalich.

Second place driver Sheldon Creed holds the record for the most second place finishes before the first win.

With 46 laps remaining in the race, Austin Hill leads the race with Jesse Love in second; Sheldon Creed, Parker Retzlaff, and Sammy Smith round out the top five.

Carson Kvapil is out of the race.

Jeremy Clements gets loose and spins out but keeps it off the wall and the track stays green.

Forty to go, Austin Hill leads the race with Sheldon Creed in second; Jesse Love, Sammy Smith, and Rajah Caruth round out the top five.

The caution flag comes out with 38 laps to go for debris on the track.

Justin Allgaier is out of the race after the incident with Corey Day.

With 27 laps to go, Jesse Love drops down to the inside lane but it is Sheldon Creed that gets down and powers  through to take the lead.

The top five are Sheldon Creed, Austin Hill, Jesse Love, Ross Chastain, and Brandon Jones.

With 25 laps to go, the Melon Man comes up on the inside to take the lead.

Rajah Caruth gets into the wall but saves the car and the track stays green.

Just 23 laps to go, Ross Chastain leads the race with Sheldon Creed in second, Austin Hill, Jesse Love, and Brandon Jones round out the topo five.

The caution flag comes out for “the big one” with 22 laps to go.  Taylor Gray, Sammy Smith, Austin Green, Brennan Poole, Ryan Ellis, Lavar Scott, Mason Maggio, Nick Leitz, Gio Ruggiero, and Rajah Caruth were all involved.

Sam Mayer is the “lucky dog” and is back on the lead lap.

Drivers come down pit road for service.

Ross Chastain brings the field down for the green flag restart with just 14 laps remaining in the race.  Austin Hill starts alongside the Melon Man on the inside.  Sheldon Creed gives Ross Chastain a push for the lead but Austin Hill moves up on the inside to battle for the lead.

Josh William spins out and hits the wall to bring out the seventh caution flag.  Rajah Caruth got loose but saved the car.

Rajah Caruth is the last car on the lead lap in 22nd.

NASCAR has red flagged the race to get the track cleaned up.

After a short red flag of less than five minutes, the cars are moving once again with just 10 laps remaining in the race.

Melon Man Ross Chastain brings the field down for the green flag restart with Austin Hill alongside and just six laps remaining in the race.  Sheldon Creed gives Chastain a big push for the lead.

Drivers are getting aggressive in the final laps.
