Hearing that a play or musical is closing early is never a good thing.  Putting on a Broadway production can be a very costly venture with investors gambling that the show they back will be a big hit – at least enough to recoup the investment.

But, when the news reports a show has been extended, it’s always good news.

The Off-Broadway play “An Ark” has been extended and is now set to close on April 4.

Written by Olivier and Simon Stephens, “An Ark” is a mixed reality play currently playing at The Shed.

The play compresses a single human lifetime in a 47 minute play that “invites audiences into a deeply personal exploration of what it means to live, to grieve, and to connect.”

The actors are not physically on the stage while audience members wear headsets to hear the dialogue.

“By popular demand” the play “Dirty Books” has been extended for a fourth time and is now set to close on April 30 at the Bated Breath Theater on Off-Broadway.

Inspired by true stories, the show is an immersive production, it that “plunges audiences into the battles over anti-obscenity laws and censorship in America.”
