The Tony Award winning musical “The Outsiders” has consistently been a part of the Million Dollar Club on Broadway for bringing in at least $1 million at the box office from a week’s worth of performances.

“The Outsiders” took $22 million to put on the stage. In the final week of 2025, the Best Musical has recouped all of its investment.

The Best Musical winner is adapted from the novel by S.E. Hinton and the iconic film by Francis Ford Coppola.

Producers Matthew Rego, Michael Rego and Hank Unger issued a statement saying, “we’re thrilled by how audiences have embraced and supported ‘The Outsiders’.  It’s been a true honor to bring Susie Hinton’s beloved book to life on stage for those who are new to this story and those who have cherished it for almost 60 years. We’re forever grateful to the extraordinary creative team, cast, crew, and everyone at the Jacobs Theatre who have poured their hearts into “The Outsiders”. We look forward to seeing it continue to impact current and future generations of theatergoers for many years to come.”

Since opening on April 11, 2024, “The Outsiders” have given 746 performances to over 770,000 theater fans.

During its run, “The Outsiders” has broken Bernard B. Jacobs house records nearly a dozen times and it is the first show in the history of the theater to break the $2 million mark in a single week.
