With the 2026 NASCAR season is set to begin in less than one month with a packed weekend at Daytona International Speedway, the field for all three series is filling quickly.

RFK Racing has announced that they will run a fourth car at Daytona with Corey LaJoie behind the wheel.

Via team release, RFK Racing co-owner and driver Brad Keselowski spoke on the addition of LaJoie saying, “from a competition standpoint, having a fourth car gives us and Ford Racing a better chance to win the Daytona 500.  It’s not just about adding another entry. Superspeedway racing is about cooperation and having an additional car allows us to be more effective in forming drafting alliances, controlling lanes, and putting ourselves in position when it matters most.”

With Daniel Suarez no longer driving the 99 car, the number is again available.  LaJoie will be driving the 99 car – a number made popular by Jeff Burton and  Mr. Backflip Carl Edwards.

LaJoie spoke on the opportunity to race in the Daytona 500 saying, “this is a dream come true to get an opportunity with RFK Racing at the Daytona 500.  This is without a doubt, the best car and opportunity I’ve had at Daytona. I’m grateful for the trust they’ve placed in me.”

LaJoie has 276 race starts to his credit, but ran only a part time schedule last season.

With Brad Keselowski still recovering from a broken leg in a skiing accident, LaJoie is set to drive the number six car in the Cook Out Clash on February 1.

In the Craftsman Truck Series, X Games and motorsports star Travis Pastrana has signed with Niece Motorsports to make an attempt at racing the number 42 truck Daytona.

The 42 year old Pastrana has not been in a NASCAR race in three years when he drove in the Truck Series and ran the Daytona 500.

Pastrana spoke via a team release on his return to NASCAR saying, “I’m excited to get back on the track in Daytona with Brunt Workwear and Niece Motorsports.  This is my first NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race since 2023, so it will be fun to get behind the wheel again and see what we can do. It’s great to work with Brunt for the first time in NASCAR. They’ve been an amazing partner, getting behind all the good times and bad ideas we cook up at Pastranaland, and keeping myself and the Channel 199 crew safe and comfortable while we do it – expanding that partnership to the race track was a no-brainer and a great opportunity for all of us.”

CEO of Niece Motorsports Cody Efaw spoke on Pastrana saying,“Travis and I first worked together at Roush back in 2013, and it’s been incredibly rewarding to see that relationship continue into the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series with Niece Motorsports.  Travis is one of the most genuine people you’ll ever meet, and we’re thrilled to welcome Brunt Workwear to the Niece Motorsports family. Their brand is a natural fit for who we are and what we do, and we’re excited to take the green flag together at Daytona.”
