Those were how my dad described his mail and messages at work…he had three files – important, pending, and 13. Thirteen was how he described the garbage bin.
And most of his mail went into the 13 pile.
I have three email accounts – all synced into one spot – and get over 200 emails per day. I spend over an hour just going through the list. While I do hit select and batch dump a bunch of them; there are still several to go through; filled with news items and such that I need to read to determine whether they contain material I can use for an article.
It seems to take longer these days to get through it all and then write and post at least a couple of articles.
I don’t drive, so how is it that I get emails everyday for lowering my car insurance?????
And somehow that cancel button just doesn’t seem to work…they keep coming!
And now the text message box is starting to fill up. How am I supposed to get some work – writing – done with all the messages and emails?????
One of these days real soon I am going to have to sort through the pile of physical mail that has piled up too. Nearly all of that will go into 13 since there are old bills and the like in that pile.
My “snail mail” box is empty most days, but the email box more than makes up for it with hundreds of messages each day. It would be nice to find a way to de-clutter that!
