Dirt track racing has become at least as popular as NASCAR.  In fact, a number of NASCAR drivers run dirt track races when not in their primary cars.

One of the biggest dirt races is the annual Tulsa Shootout that features six different classes of cars and draws hundreds of racers from all across the world of racing each year.

In 2024, the Tulsa Shootout set a record of race entries with 1,752.  With just one week remaining before the start of the races, the Shootout is less than 20 entries away from matching the record; and more drivers are expected.

Among those near record entrants are NASCAR Cup Series drivers…and their children!

Though not officially entered as of yet, Kyle Larson is sure to return to defend his Golden Driller championship from last year; but first he will be “Down Under” in Perth, Australia to compete in a Sprint Car race.

But he will not be the only Larson competing for a Golden Driller…making her Tulsa Shootout debut Aubrey Larson will be joining brother Owen in the annual dirt track competition.

The battle of the Busch’s returns; but this time they will be racing together.  Last year young Brexton earned a Golden Driller in the Junior Sprint division but after graduating to the next class, he will not get the opportunity to defend his title.

Other drivers entered to compete for the Golden Driller are:
Frank Flud
Kaylee Bryson
Logan Seavey
Wyatt Earnhardt Miller
Joe B. Miller
Blake Hahn
Jason McDougal
Daison Pursley
Ricky Thornton Jr.
Tanner Thorson
Brady Bacon
and Ryan Timms
