This past NASCAR season saw a number of records broken and new ones set from rookie drivers and veterans alike.
As the teams head into the new year and another season, here’s a glimpse into the season that was as we wonder what record will be broken next???
While Connor Zilisch and Corey Heim dominated the series last season; there were 14 different winners and 15 different pole sitters in the Craftsman Truck and Xfinity Series (now O’Reilly Auto Parts Series).
Xfinity Series rookie Connor Zilisch was a part of several records in the 2025 series. With 10 wins, Connor Zilisch earned the most wins since Kyle Busch won 10 races in 2016. Zilisch earned the most wins by a rookie and became the first rookie to win the regular season championship.
Zilisch was also the youngest driver in NASCAR history to win a race at nine different tracks, have four consecutive wins, and earn 10 wins in a single season. He also broke Sam Ard’s record of 15 top five consecutive finishes with 18.
Dale Earnhardt Jr’s JR Motorsports earned a total of 17 races last season – the most since Joe Gibbs Racing set the record in 2016 with 19.
It was also a banner year for the crew chiefs with five of them earning their first career wins; including Dale Earnhardt Jr who won the race while sitting in for Connor Zilisch’s suspended crew chief at Pocono Raceway.
Austin Hill’s Martinsville spring race win earned car owner Richard Childress career win number 100.
Hill also set a new record for leading laps at drafting tracks with 810.
JR Motorsports driver Justin Allgaier added his name to the very short list of drivers to lead at least 7,000 laps during their career. He is only the fourth driver to do so.
There were just two first time winners in the Xfinity Series last season – Nick Sanchez and Taylor Gray.
Two drivers made their 500th career race start last season with Jeremy Clements at COTA and Justin Allgaier on the Roval.
In the Craftsman Truck Series, it was Heim Time throughout the season with Corey Heim earning seven poles, 12 race wins, 19 top fives, 21 top 10’s, 23 stage wins, and led 1,627 laps during the season. There were 25 races in the 2025 Craftsman Truck Series schedule. Heim has won 21 races over the past three years; tying with Kyle Busch for the record.
Beginning back in 2024, Corey Heim has a streak of 26 races where he has led at least one lap – the most of anyone ever! He is the first driver to lead laps in every race of the season.
Of the 25 races run in the Craftsman Truck Series; Tricon Garage and Front Row Motorsports won 18 of them. And for the first time since 2007, ThorSport failed to win any races.
The Truck Series had the youngest championship four drivers in 25 years at 25 years, four months, and 20 days – Corey Heim, Ty Majeski, Tyler Ankrum, and Kaden Honeycutt.
Tyler Ankrum broke a 130 race winless streak – the longest in Truck Series history – with a win at Rockingham Speedway.
Daniel Hemric and Gio Ruggiero earned their first career race wins las season – Hemric at Martinsville and Ruggiero at Talladega. Ruggiero was named Rookie of the Year.
