Frequently, live broadcasts of awards galas include a number of extra events like host monologues, special musical performances, and one time collaborations; not to mention long-winded speeches. As a result, only a handful of the awards are actually handed out during the live broadcast.
When the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences presents their annual Academy (Oscar) awards next year, they will be presenting all 24 of them, including the new Best Achievement in Casting award.
