Swedish rockers Europe will be celebrating 40 years since the release of their album “The Final Countdown” next year with a European tour.
Their third album, the title track became a huge hit for the band, going number one in 25 countries.
It has been nearly 40 years since the release of the song, but it continues to be popular with over one billion views on YouTube.
Along with a career spanning set list, Europe will be performing “The Final Countdown” in its entirety on the tour. And a new album – number 12 – is on the horizon; the band finished the recording in October.
Joey Tempest spoke on the tour saying, “in a blink of an eye 40 years have passed and we’re about to perform TFC in full for only the second time in our career, together with other hits and our favorite songs from our upcoming album. This will be amazing – we’re working on making the production and show match this very special occasion.”
Canadian rocker The Damn Truth will be joining Europe on the tour with Scottish legends GUN joining in for the UK dates.
