Kenny Loggins is no longer touring, but his music continues to inspire and thrill fans. His music is featured in three hit films – “Footloose”, “Top Gun”, and “Top Gun: Maverick”.
“Footloose” has just been certified as having one billion – yes, that’s billion with a B – streams on Spotify alone!
Earning a nomination for the Songwriters Hall of Fame, the two time Grammy Award winning Loggins is about to be very busy at the beginning of the new year adding some hardware to his trophy room collection.
On February 7 the Sound Support Foundation, Loggins will be inducted into the People’s Music Hall of Fame at their annual ceremony in Salt Lake City.
And then on February 14 in Las Vegas, he will be honoured for his humanitarian work.
Loggins spoke on his music and career saying, “five decades ago, I began a musical journey that has been incredibly rewarding. I’m thrilled to see my songs continue to find new life with new fans after all these years. One billion streams for ‘Footloose’ is almost unimaginable. I’m grateful that my work still resonates with so many people.”
During the spring, a new documentary about Loggins will be released – “Conviction of the Heart”. Directed by award-winning director Dori Berinstein, the film is an intimate look into Loggins’ life as a musician and father; featuring rare material and interviews including his children, Clive Davis, Jimmy Messina, David Foster, and Kevin Bacon.
