Last week when the Baltimore Ravens gave an injury update on quarterback Lamar Jackson, they issued some information that was rather misleading prior to the game against the Chicago Bears.

The Ravens stated that Jackson “fully participated” in practice when Jackson practiced with the practice squad.  The following day, the Ravens altered the report saying Jackson was limited in practice and would not be playing in the game against the Bears.

Citing an inaccurate injury report, the NFL has fined the Baltimore Ravens $100,000.

In explanation, the Ravens stated that Jackson participated in the entire practice but did not take any “starter reps”.  Under League policy, Jackson’s status was limited.

The Ravens have stated that they will not be appealing the ruling saying, “it is critical that the Baltimore Ravens always operate with integrity and in full accordance with NFL guidelines. We clearly made an error regarding player injury reporting and cooperated transparently with the league’s investigation. We accept the decision by the NFL that we violated the policy and have taken steps to ensure that we will be compliant moving forward.”
