How much would you pay to go to the moon?

Many years ago there was a television show called “The Honeymooners” and the character played by Jackie Gleason – Ralph Kramden – was always telling his wife Alice “to the moon!”

I saw a cartoon of two astronauts checking a body on the moon and one of them noted it was Alice Kramden.

The moon has always been a fascination for the people of Earth and a big topic for science fiction books and films.

I remember when America first sent astronauts to the moon. They collected rocks, played golf, and drove around in a big dune buggy styled vehicle. But they didn’t take the next step.

Suddenly Mars became the big fascination.

The gravity of the moon is one sixth of that on Earth, it seems that escape velocity for rockets would be much more easily achieved and the perfect spot to launch rockets for further space exploration.

And long before there was even the thought of humans going to Mars, settlements on the moon should be considered.

The big thing for the uber wealthy these days is to “go to space” and pay millions of dollars to actually go to the upper atmosphere near the edge of space.

I have had a big fascination with space since I was a kid – growing up in Florida and seeing rockets launch it was a natural thing to do. “Star Trek” just sealed the deal. But I’m not so sure about traveling to the moon or outer space right now.

America has a Space Force, I’m not sure why, they don’t go into space.

I would like to see the moon, but I’m not sure what that would be worth. If we ever built a colony there, I might consider moving, but I’m not sure right now.
