The Country Music Hall of Fame has inducted its newest class of members with Tony Brown being inducted as the non-performance members with musicians June Carter Cash and Kenny Chesney in the performance category.
The Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville now has 158 members.
Tony Brown began his music career as a keyboard player; playing for the King himself Elvis Presley and Emmylou Harris. He later turned his hand as a record executive that helped to shape modern country music. As a music producer, Brown worked with now fellow Hall of Famers Vince Gill, Wynonna Judd, Patty Loveless, Reba, George Strait, and Marty Stuart.
Lyle Lovett, Steve Earle, Trisha Yearwood, and George Strait performed in tribute to Brown with Vince Gill presenting the Hall of Fame Medallion.
Carrying on the family tradition, June Carter Cash has spent 60 years as a singer, songwriter, and comedienne. She was just 10 years old when she first stood on the stage to perform. Over the course of her career she wrote over 100 songs including the Johnny Cash hit “Ring of Fire”.
Kacey Musgraves, Daniel Tashian, Keb’ Mo, Ruby Amanfu, and Lukas Nelson performed tributes to Cash with Emmylou Harris presenting the Hall of Fame Medallion.
Modern Era Artist Kenny Chesney traded in his athletic shoes for a microphone to become one of the biggest names in Country Music. Over the course of his career; Chesney has earned 16 platinum albums, 23 number ones, and is a four time CMA Entertainer of the Year.
Kelsea Ballerini, Megan Moroney, and Eric Church performed tributes to Chesney with Joe Galante presenting the Hall of Fame Medallion.
