On October 7, the Dove Awards held their 56th annual awards gala at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville to honour the best in Christian and spiritual music.
Carrie Underwood, Jelly Roll, and Jon Batiste all gave surprise guest performances. Steven Curtis Chapman, Lady A, and Vince Gil helped to celebrate 100 years of the Grand Ole Opry with performances.
Tauren Wells hosted the gala event and proclaimed that “Jesus is the center of the Show”.
Brandon Lake was the big winner of the night with five trophies.
The night was filled with presentations for song awards in English and Spanish; as well as, artist awards in a variety of genres including Spanish, rap, and hip-hop.

Southern Gospel Album of the Year: “Loving You” by The Nelons
Inspirational Recorded Song of the Year: “The Jesus Way” by Phil Wickham
