More accurately, it should be when did I feel like I fit in?
The buzz word in today’s society is “fake news”; instead it should be “fake people”.
People pretending they like you and pretending that they are happy you are a part of the group.
The current government likes to throw around the word diversity; but diversity has always been a part of the world. With the exception of identical twins/triplets no two people are the same. Throughout history, people have largely learned to except those differences and even learn from them.
But that has all changed over the past several decades. People are no longer tolerant of those not like them. It’s the if you aren’t like me, you must be stupid attitude.
My Grandma used to say, “when you’re by yourself, you know you are in good company.”
Words worth taking to heart. If I am on my own, then I know I belong…in my own little world.
