In his short life, Muppet master Jim Henson created joy for generations of Muppet fans; whether it be Kermit the Frog and Friends, “Sesame Steet”, “Fraggle Rock”, “Dark Crystal”, or “Labyrinth”.
Celebrating 70 years of The Henson Company, they will be holding their first ever auction this autumn that will include props, costumes, puppets, memorabilia, and even some calendars autographed by the Diva herself Miss Piggy!
Sponsored by celebrity auction house Julien’s, the over 400 items up for sale will come directly from The Henson Company archives.
A few of the items on the list are a full-body puppet of Naia Drenchen Gelfling from “The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance”, over 80 puppets, nine original artworks by Caroll Spinney, and many more rare items.
Online bidding begins October 22 with the live auction on November 25.
Julien’s Auctions is offering a hardbound book for sale that features every item available in the auction. (juliensauctions.com) The book sells for $100.

The Henson Company has donated memorabilia to The Smithsonian Institution including the original Kermit made from Mama Henson’s green coat and ping-pong balls and an original Miss Piggy can be seen at the National Museum of American History.
